All verses are taken verbatim from the copyright-free WEB Ecumenical Bible except for Deuteronomy 32:8 and 13 New Testament verses in the WEB version that use the word “possessed” to describe a person who is demonized.
Sons of God vs. Children of Israel
In most versions, De 32:8 refers to “the children of Israel." The children of Israel didn’t yet exist at the time God set the bounds of the people. While the official Jewish Torah reads "sons of Israel" (b'nei Yisrael), older manuscripts like the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Greek Septuagint read "sons of God" (b'nei Elohim) or "angels of God." I have opted to go with “sons of God.”
Demonized vs. Possessed
I edited thirteen New Testament verses (Matthew 4:24, 8:16, 8:28, 8:33, 9:32, 12:22, 15:22, Mark 1:32, 5:15, 5:16, 5:18, Luke 8:36, and John 10:21) to reflect the fact that the Greek word δαιμονίζομαι (daimonizomai) should be translated “demonized”.
